How do you get the strings? And how can I be certain of their authenticity?
After an artist has agreed to donate their guitar strings to the Wear Your Music Charity Project we send them a letter with instructions on how to remove their strings (cutting them as far from the ball as possible), where to send the strings, and inquiring what charity they would like the profits to benefit. Then the artist or the artist’s guitar tech removes the strings (some artists change strings everyday, some only once a year) and sends them directly to the office at Relix Magazine. From Relix, they are shipped in their original packaging to AZU Studio. At AZU the guitar strings are labeled and placed into individual boxes that are also labeled with the artist’s name and band when applicable. Each bracelet comes with a Statement of Authenticity signed by the president of Relix Magazine.

How long will it take to receive my RelixBand?
Once a week orders are sent from Relix Magazine to AZU Studio. When the orders are received at AZU, the are put into production which entails the selection of a string, the wrapping of the string to size, the stamping and soldering of the Silver Seal, and any customization that you have requested. This process usually takes about one week. At that point the bracelets are shipped to the Relix office, where they are packaged and shipped. The entire process takes from two to three weeks on average.

What is the RelixBand made of?
Your RelixBand is handcrafted from the used guitar strings of the artist you specify when ordering. The guitar strings are donated, and therefore, they are always different thicknesses and a variety of metals, including copper, nickel, and stainless steel. Some bracelets are made from one string, and others, multiple strings. Every RelixBand is unique, depending upon the materials that are available from the artist at the time of your order.

The Silver Seal, which binds the band together and symbolizes the strings authenticity, is crafted from fine silver, which is the highest-grade silver available, 99.9% pure. The silver is stamped with the word RELIX, and then soldered into a tube around the strings to create the Silver Seal.

Can I return or exchange my RelixBand?
At Wear Your Music we really want you to be happy with your purchase of a rare and unique piece of musical art.

Each bracelet is custom crafted to your size and specifications when ordered. Once completed the bracelets cannot be resized or altered in any manner. For that reason we ask that you carefully review the sizing procedure when determining the desired size. We’d prefer that you contact us BEFORE ordering if you have any questions or are unsure about your size.

Our bracelets come in three standard sizes 7.5”, 8”, 8.5" and 9”, and when ordered without customization may be exchanged for an alternate size, providing that replacement strings are available and the bracelet has not been worn or damaged in any way. Please DO NOT FORCE a small bracelet onto your wrist.

If you would like to exchange or resize your standard bracelet, please send without packaging, along with a check or money order for $25.00 (15 for the resizing, 10 for additional shipping and handling) to:

AZU LLC
Attn: Wear Your Music
2172 Broad St,
Cranston, RI 02905.

Please allow 4-6 weeks for return processing.

Bracelets that have additional customizations (custom size, clasp, stones, engraving, gold, etc) are considered final purchases and cannot be returned or exchanged. Please take extra care when deciding on customization options.

Please treat your bracelet with care, like any piece of wrist jewelry, avoid stretching and tangling. Due to the nature of used and donated materials, we cannot guarantee the integrity of the guitar strings. Clasps and closures can be repaired where shown to be faulty, however stretched or broken strings cannot.

How do I care for my RelixBand?
Naturally, metal can rust and silver can tarnish. However, with the proper care of the RelixBand, you can avoid both. Most importantly, please dry your RelixBand thoroughly if it gets wet. Because the strings are donated, they are made from a variety of materials, so, they age differently as well. Some strings might be coated with a thin plastic film, which will, over time, begin to peel away from the metal guitar string. While this is totally natural, you may want to clean the strings with a wire brush or a hard-bristled toothbrush to remove the film. Additionally, if the Silver Seal begins to tarnish it can be polished with silver polish or a silver cleaning cloth.

How do I figure out my size?
The RelixBand comes sized in inches. The standard sizes are a 7.5, 8, 8.5 and 9. Please select your size on the checkout page. Figuring out what size RelixBand you need is easy. The standard RelixBand (sizing info for clasp addition below) does not have a clasp so it must be large enough to slip over your hand. To find your size all you need is a piece of string (guitar string works too) and a ruler. Measure the widest part of your hand (around your thumb knuckle). You should measure your hand when it is as small as it can be, as if you were reaching into a pickle jar. Then measure the string in inches. Most women wear a size 8 and most men wear a 9. You want the RelixBand to be able to get over your hand, but not to slip off. It should be tight when it goes on, so that it sits on your wrist comfortably. Please note, if you choose the clasp addition you need to measure the actual wrist size in inches and then add a half inch to the number. This is the size that you should select when ordering a RelixBand with the clasp customization. If you have any additional questions please email us at info@wearyourmusic.org
